CONTROL OF MINERALS IN TRANSIT

Alex Stewart International performs, on behalf of governments, the inspection and control of minerals in transit, which could be replaced by minerals of higher value produced in the client country for illicit exportation.

At inspection stations established at border control points, Alex Stewart International inspects the minerals on arrival, seals bags and containers, verifies weight limits on trucks, performs radioactivity checks on the minerals, and issues high-security transit certificates identifying each vehicle and its cargo.

Shipments and seals are re-inspected at exit points to ensure that no tampering has occurred en route.

All arrival and departure data are entered into a database, and a weekly reconciliation of arrivals and departures is performed to ensure the timely exit of transit cargoes.
